Trimming
In both news paper, book  and brochure printing the trimming process takes off edges of the printed material, creating strips of paper. The volume, length and characteristics of the trimmed paper strips can vary on each  application, with the need for the paper trim to be cut into smaller more manageable pieces and separated from the conveying air stream via a cyclone or NFV material separator.

Commonly there is also paper dust from the trimming process, and both strips and dust needs to be extracted to ensure a clean and efficient working process.
